We had a wonderful stay at this elegant hotel. the staff, especially Thi Haw, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Kiplings Restaurant, with its talented German chef and charming ambiance, was one of the highlights of our visit. the communal areas were beautifully decorated, exuding authentic colonial charm. We enjoyed the bistro food and the relaxed courtyard setting by the pool. the hotel's proximity to the Shwedagon Pagoda was a bonus. the Savoy Hotel offered a fine experience at a reasonable price.
Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes. 😊.

Great hotel with good service. Food can be interesting but was nice. The Italian food was excellent and the ambiance of the overall restaurants were great. Just what people are looking for in a colonial style hotel. Great location and within walking distance to the pagoda. Staff was very friendly.
Hotel was great--no downsides other than the expense.

Colonial-style property, friendly staff, two affordable restaurants, spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms. Close to attractions, cafes, and a supermarket. Lovely pool/court area, great food prices, historic yet comfortable ambiance, local art decorations, accommodating staff. Ideal location with lots of activity and nightlife nearby. Rooms have brand new shower area. Atmospheric and restored with original windows and beautiful wood fixtures. Large rooms with modern amenities. Breakfast on the veranda overlooking the pool. Pleasant and helpful staff. Close to Shwedagon Pagoda, restaurants, and a supermarket.

This is a beautifully appointed hotel a short ride to the Shwedagon Pagoda (which is visible from their restaurant). The rooms are spacious, clean, well appointed and thoughtfully outfitted. The European manager has paid a lot of attention to detail in the furnishing and decoration of this property which boast many local artefacts, a bar popular with expats, free internet & wifi, a courtyard pool, and good restaurant. Wonderful staff - always friendly, helpful and there to assist in any way. A charming property I can recommend without hesitation.

Nice classic deco. Beautiful bar. Large rooms. Friendly staff.
Considering the price they charge, they should accept visa but they make it so complicated that I felt like undergrade person when I asked to pay by card because I overlooked that they accept only cash. The manager was ready to accept only for the night I had already spent and for the following night I could go to hell. Fortunately the employee was very kind and helped me to find a solution (the name of a travel agency that accepts visa for cash). The air con was so loud despite the "repair" with tissue paper that I had to switch it off.

I loved the location of this hotel. It's situated in a great neighbourhood, close to various landmarks, and only a short walk away from the famous Shwedagon Pagoda which was the highlight of my trip. The hotel facilities were top-notch, and I enjoyed using their pool after a long day of sightseeing. The staff was always friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Lastly, breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone to enjoy.
Nothing for me.

Helpful staff, good location, payment in new us dollars was unreasonable
Paid more than Booked.net had indicated, maybe because payment was made by bank transfer to Hotels German owner.

Beautiful, old house with character. Good breakfast buffets. Lovely swimming pool. Relaxing hotel not too far from the city centre. Excellent restaurant Aung Thuka across the road.
Food very steep in price. It would be nice not to feel they charged for absolutely everything. With a hotel of this price I would expect a few complentary touches but it felt they looked to get every penny out of you when you are already paying $160 a night.

Had a fantastic Easter break at this hidden gem. The rooms were beautifully decorated with dark wooden floors and a warm ambiance. The hotel had an impressive collection of local art and artifacts, and we really felt like we were staying in a private villa. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us excellent advice on where to eat and visit nearby. The location was convenient to major attractions and a modern supermarket. We enjoyed the tranquil courtyard with pool, restaurant, and bar for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.
The traffic around the hotel was quite loud but expected in a bustling city. The restaurant options around the hotel were limited, but the Western food served in the hotel restaurant was delicious.
